Hi my names Kate Muller, I studied a Diploma of Community Services- Children Services at Wagga Wagga Tafe in 2003/04. During this time I worked as a special needs aide at Biralee Preschool one day a week and I also ran an NSW In Home Childcare business with families locally and in Wagga Wagga. I was invited to instruct a playgroup in the remote town of Humula and that’s where my love of playgroups developed. Once completing my studies I worked at Regional Social Development Group which is now Intereach in Deniliquin as an OOSH Assistant and Family Support Worker, during this time I had the pleasure of working as a Koori Playtime and Young mums Educator with program participants children, my role progressed to a Volunteer Home Visiting Coordinators Position helping link families to volunteers within the Berrigan, Jerilderie and Corowa Shires, meeting a lot of diversified rural families. During my time over Deniliquin way I worked as a Tafe NSW Child studies Teacher Part time at Tafe.
I vacated these positions and kept the In home Childcare business running to coincide with becoming a mother of three beautiful girls Lucy, Grace and Emily and alongside parenting was involved in the local Toy Library and Playgroup and have now progressed back to working at Biralee Preschool OOSH as a casual Educator. I love watching children grow and develop and personally being a part of their journey within the Biralee Educator team.
